About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support heavy civil construction activities by planning, organizing, and implementing project controls, engineering interface, and materials management.
  • Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications for assigned work portions.
  • Examine and inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain the project master schedule using appropriate scheduling software and techniques.
  • Manage document control, including receiving, logging, and reviewing new issue drawings and contract documents.
  • Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections using project management systems.
  • Supervise and provide on-the-job training for lower-level engineers and technical staff.
  • Drive company environmental health and safety programs at the project level.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in the construction or engineering field, specifically working on heavy civil infrastructure or transportation projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership, management, delegation, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of management systems such as accounts payable/receivable, materials control, estimating, and subcontracts.
  • Ability to travel and relocate as business needs require.
