Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications
• Examine and inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures
• Inspect subordinates' work for compliance with contract plans and specifications
• Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate scheduling software
• Manage document control, including receiving, logging, and maintaining contract documents
• Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections
• Purchase and expedite the delivery of materials while managing material control operations
• Identify workplace safety hazards and implement necessary corrective actions
• Act as a managing project engineer/coordinator on multiple projects, providing mentorship and training to lower-level engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience in project/field engineering
• Licensed P.Eng. or registered member as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or eligible to register
• Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with an emphasis on safety
• Working knowledge of management systems including accounts payable/receivable, materials control, and estimating
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to relocate and travel as business needs arise
