About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications
- Examine and inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures
- Inspect subordinates' work for compliance with contract plans and specifications
- Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate scheduling software
- Manage document control, including receiving, logging, and maintaining contract documents
- Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections
- Purchase and expedite the delivery of materials while managing material control operations
- Identify workplace safety hazards and implement necessary corrective actions
- Act as a managing project engineer/coordinator on multiple projects, providing mentorship and training to lower-level engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience in project/field engineering
- Licensed P.Eng. or registered member as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or eligible to register
- Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with an emphasis on safety
- Working knowledge of management systems including accounts payable/receivable, materials control, and estimating
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to relocate and travel as business needs arise
