Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering activities between site teams, designers, subcontractors, and clients
• Monitor project progress against program, cost, and quality objectives
• Support NEC4 contract administration, including early warning processes and change management
• Review and manage technical queries, RFIs, and construction documentation
• Support procurement activities and subcontractor management
• Comply with CDM 2015 regulations and company HSEQ procedures to promote a positive safety culture
• Assist with risk management, temporary works coordination, and permits
• Prepare progress reports, look-ahead plans, and engineering trackers

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• 3–7 years of experience in infrastructure or heavy civil engineering
• Strong understanding of NEC4 contracts and UK infrastructure delivery models
• Knowledge of tunnelling, deep excavation, or heavy civils construction methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction sequencing
• Understanding of QA/QC processes and inspection test plans

Preferred Qualifications

• SMSTS or SSSTS certification
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status
