About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering support to Project Managers and Construction Managers for educational facility projects.
- Coordinate with PMO staff, contractors, architects, engineers, and college stakeholders.
- Conduct field checks on construction, demolition, and rehabilitation projects to ensure compliance with specifications and DSA requirements.
- Review, estimate, and process construction change orders and field orders.
- Manage and direct contractors and outside consultants, including invoice approval.
- Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Review submittals for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Prepare Scope of Work documents, project status reports, and Proposed Board Actions (PBAs).
- Maintain detailed project files in both electronic and paper formats.
Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in a similar construction role.
- BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (4 years of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the degree).
- Strong ability to work in a team environment and take initiative.
- Ability to manage daily work efforts effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with LEED certified projects or CHPS (Collaborative for High Performing Schools).
- Experience with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design process.
- Professional Engineer License (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or similar credentials.
- Experience with sustainability technologies such as Energy Information Systems, LED lighting, Building Management Systems, Decarbonization, Renewable Energy (PV, BESS), and EV Charging Stations.

- Salary Range: $122,000 - $127,000.
