Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the technical delivery of railway connectivity projects, including solution design, documentation, testing, and deployment.
• Define project deliverables and work with Project Managers to ensure completion within specified timescales.
• Engage with clients to determine requirements, agree on solutions, review documentation, and present test results.
• Create comprehensive project documentation, including design synoptics, Bills of Materials (BoMs), test specifications, and installation manuals.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to ensure successful service delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and act as 3rd line support for internal teams.
• Manage the handover process to clients or in-house support staff, including providing necessary training.

Requirements

• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, including LAN and VLAN IP planning.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux platforms.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices (switches, routers, access points).
• Strong understanding of RF environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Visio for design documentation.
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Ability to work onsite in Hayward, CA, and at customer depots/train yards.
• Ability to travel within North America (5–15%).

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA certification.
• Linux Red Hat or Debian certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, IT, or Computing Engineering.
• Knowledge of mobile data networks and antenna design/placement.
• Familiarity with railway certification requirements and industrial maintenance processes.
