About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support design, construction, commissioning, and qualification activities for capital projects from concept through validation.
  • Manage project lifecycles including user requirement specifications, equipment procurement, installation, and turnover to manufacturing.
  • Oversee project management aspects such as schedules, budgets, and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Support technical transfer and scale-up of processes for Chemical Development and Manufacturing Services.
  • Assist with Environmental Health & Safety activities, including Process Hazard Analysis and Process Safety Management.
  • Execute and review validation protocols including FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Support Quality Assurance through Change Controls, CAPAs, and audit responses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical (or BioChem), or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in the pharma/biopharma or fine chemicals industry.
  • 4 years of experience with P&IDs, facility layouts, mass and energy balances, and equipment sizing.
  • 4 years of Process Engineering experience.
  • 4 years of experience managing project phases including design review, procurement, and commissioning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ASME BPE sanitary piping and equipment design standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards such as NFPA 70 / NEC and International Fire and Building Codes.
  • Experience with industrial control systems including SCADA, PLCs, and BAS.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or Visio.
  • Experience with validation documentation and IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
