About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the program’s technical authority, responsible for overall technical design, system architecture, and hardware/software integration
- Lead multi-disciplined engineering teams through the design, integration, and delivery of complex flight training and simulation devices
- Review and provide technical direction on requirements, specifications, designs, and test plans
- Identify technical risks and integration challenges, recommending solutions such as resource reallocation or technical approach changes
- Coordinate engineering activities across small- and large-scale programs within a matrixed organization
- Interface directly with government customers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues
- Support new business development and proposal efforts by contributing technical expertise and cost inputs
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience developing complex hardware/software systems
- Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams
- Experience working with government customers to translate needs into technical requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Computer, Aerospace, or related discipline)
- Experience with flight-based training/simulation devices or simulator design and testing
- 3+ years of direct experience as a Project Engineer in flight-based simulation systems
- Strong background in software development
- Experience with flight simulation industry standards and regulatory requirements
