About the role
Responsibilities
- Project manage various titles from manuscript through to print-ready and digital files
- Manage timelines and coordinate production review processes
- Establish and maintain relationships with authors, illustrators, and external clients
- Perform substantive developmental editing and copy editing for consistency and style
- Partner with copy editors, proofreaders, and freelance staff
- Quality check all in-house and outsourced work to ensure standards are met
- Undertake in-house writing, copy-editing, and proofreading as required
- Maintain correspondence files and project archives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, English, journalism, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in writing and editing, preferably in book publishing
- Strong organizational and file management skills
- Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative, open-suite environment
