Project Director

Responsibilities

• Manage high-value, challenging building and infrastructure projects within the Defence and Security sector.
• Deliver projects according to the project plan, ensuring they meet budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams to scope and deliver tasks in line with client expectations and the WSP Business Management System.
• Chair meetings, write reports, organize resources, and monitor project finances.
• Accountable for all aspects of project performance, including commercial, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Support ongoing work-winning activities and act as an ambassador for the Defence and Security sector within the business.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the Defence and Security sector delivering building or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrable understanding of working in accordance with security protocols.
• Knowledge of MOD policy, processes, and procedures, including JSPs (specifically JSP 850).
• Familiarity with the Green Book and the 5 case model for business cases.
• Experience in Design and Build, ECI, or alliancing delivery models.
• Professional technical qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., engineering, building, quantity surveying, or construction management).
• Recognised project or programme management qualification (PMI, APM, RICS, or CIOB).
• NEC3/4 PM qualification.
• Eligibility to achieve Security Clearance.
