Project Director, Design and Construction Capital Projects

Responsibilities

• Direct large-scale healthcare capital projects with budgets ranging from $30 to $500 million.
• Manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resources from inception through closeout.
• Oversee external consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure adherence to contractual requirements and fixed budgets.
• Provide on-site supervision of construction phases and chair owner-architect-contractor progress meetings.
• Implement LEAN Construction processes to support decision-making and risk mitigation.
• Develop commissioning and turnover plans, including managing punch lists and ensuring certificates of occupancy.
• Coordinate with internal resources and multidisciplinary teams to meet schedule milestones and support facility operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in the construction or design industry with significant project management of large capital projects.
• Proven track record managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk in a capital project setting.
• Experience managing projects in a healthcare environment, including knowledge of infection control protocols.
• Expertise in analyzing construction costs and schedules.
• Proficiency in various design and construction methods such as design-build, design-bid-build, and cost-plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present to executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with activation for large academic medical programs.
• Deep familiarity with LEAN Construction processes.
