Project Director (AIRPORTS/AVIATION)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of accountability for the delivery of the Master Systems Integrator (MSI) scope across Terminal and Airfield systems.
• Provide executive leadership for programme governance, systems integration, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness.
• Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, airport operators, aviation authorities, and EPC contractors.
• Lead programme-wide integration assurance, including requirements traceability, verification, and validation.
• Oversee the implementation of airport operational systems such as AODB, A-SMGCS, ALCMS, AOCC, RMS, FIDS, and baggage handling systems.
• Direct testing and commissioning strategies, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and integrated systems testing (SIT).
• Manage multidisciplinary teams including systems managers, integration leads, and ORAT specialists.
• Maintain oversight of integration-related risks, dependencies, and interface issues to ensure successful airport activation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Aviation, Computer, IT, Telecommunications) or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in large-scale infrastructure, aviation, or complex technology integration.
• Minimum 10 years of experience specifically in major international airport programmes.
• Proven experience in systems integration, operational technologies, and managing multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Demonstrated success delivering airport systems through testing, commissioning, and operational readiness phases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, INCOSE Systems Engineering, or ITIL.
• Previous experience with GCC airport programmes.
• Strong leadership capabilities within complex aviation environments and experience managing multi-organizational stakeholder environments.
