About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day collection, reporting, and management of clinical research data in accordance with study sponsor requirements
  • Maintain and operate database systems for NIH-funded and industry-sponsored clinical trials
  • Assist in the coordination of overall quality management (QM) procedures and contribute to QM Plans
  • Facilitate communication with Clinical Trials Unit staff to track patient and volunteer recruitment
  • Oversee the entry and correction of study data and design data tracking systems
  • Provide analysis of data trends and outcomes to assist with report preparation
  • Train additional staff members on data entry and quality control practices
  • Support study protocols including recruitment, screening, follow-up, and specimen collection
  • Provide regulatory backup, including preparation of quality assurance protocols and IRB communication

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related, biological, social science, or informatics field
  • At least 3 years of related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and independent working skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in infectious disease clinical care or research
  • Prior training or experience in phlebotomy
  • Experience working with diverse and marginalized populations
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Knowledge of REDCap, Medidata, or other electronic data entry systems
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record systems such as EPIC
