Project Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project cost engineering, including budget preparation, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
• Track and monitor project scheduling functions to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
• Develop and manage cost control systems to provide accurate financial information to management.
• Prepare monthly client invoices and process sub-consultancy invoices in accordance with contract requirements.
• Facilitate the development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) by interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance departments.
• Perform data analysis and create visual presentations using graphs and diagrams to illustrate cost status.
• Implement and maintain an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and analyze performance indicators (CPI and SPI).
• Assess the impact of design or construction changes and schedule slippages on the project baseline.
• Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts while providing corrective action recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of related work experience in project controls or cost engineering.
• Basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Project Controls software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of Power BI and project management/scheduling software tools.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience facilitating meetings with large stakeholder groups.
