Project Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead project controls for multiple small capital projects, including cost control, forecasting, scheduling, and risk management from proposal through close-out
• Develop and manage project budgets, track costs against forecasts, and partner with project managers to implement corrective actions
• Forecast cash flow and expenditures based on project progress, vendor payments, and contractor performance
• Identify cost risks and critical issues early, working with the team to create and execute recovery plans
• Deliver clear reporting, including progress updates, variance analysis, and cost and schedule forecasts
• Manage change processes to ensure all changes are documented, evaluated, and reflected in project plans
• Establish and maintain project controls plans, including contingency management tied to the work breakdown structure

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Construction, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3 years of experience in project controls or scheduling
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word
• Solid understanding of cost control, scheduling, progress tracking, and risk management practices
• Ability to manage multiple projects and travel up to 15%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting project controls in construction or turnaround environments
• PMP or AACE Certified Cost Engineer certification
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera (P6)
