Project Construction Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.
• Maintain first-level quality assurance to ensure installations comply with plans, specifications, and industry standards.
• Supervise construction work, survey personnel, and Construction Inspectors to ensure tests and inspections are properly documented.
• Monitor and coordinate contractor activities, construction schedules, and material procurement to ensure timely progress.
• Collaborate with construction management to eliminate environmental, safety, or health hazards.
• Review and interpret design drawings and specifications to ensure correct technical execution.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-level field engineering personnel and resolve engineering problems within assigned disciplines.
• Interface with clients and upper-level management regarding project status and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, a construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience.
• 8+ years of experience in field construction.
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes and industry practices.
• Proficiency in PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity on a project.
• Willingness to relocate to construction site locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects.
• Experience working on major water utility projects.
