Project Accountant

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of capital projects from approval through capitalization
• Conduct detailed cost tracking for labor and materials ensuring US GAAP compliance
• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of project sub-ledgers to the general ledger
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures related to fixed assets
• Maintain internal controls over project accounting processes to ensure SOX compliance
• Review project approval requests for proper classification and capitalization
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline project accounting processes
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting on project trends and performance
• Partner with procurement, operations, tax, and finance teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-3 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a large corporate environment
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Advanced degree
• Experience within a multinational organization
