About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for all visitors and programming at the Darling Marine Center (DMC)
  • Manage marketing and communications functions for the campus
  • Coordinate weekly activities for the DMC Outreach Coordinator, Custodians, and Sodexo Head Chef
  • Organize reservations for boarding, meeting spaces, catering, and events for UMaine affiliates, external parties, and undergraduate interns
  • Support DMC teaching, research, and outreach functions by collaborating with the DMC Director and Facilities Manager
  • Maintain communication with faculty, research staff, and administrative officials from the UMaine System

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) related to academic organizations, professional training, or community outreach
  • Proficient writing and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse academic and professional communities
  • Documented experience in developing and delivering correspondence and outreach products
  • Exceptional organizational and scheduling skills related to operations
  • Experience providing oversight and coordination for staff managing varied operational components
  • Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office, Adobe graphics applications, and Google Applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with University of Maine administrative procedures and operations
