Program Specialist

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, lead, and break down core camp activities such as arts and crafts, athletics, yoga, and nature hikes.
• Provide 24-hour supervision, leadership, and care to campers, including during meals, cabin time, and activity transitions.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment where all campers feel safe and valued.
• Collaborate with the Activities Manager to manage supplies, organize materials, and ensure smooth transitions between activities.
• Supervise and guide campers to promote participation, teamwork, and skill growth.
• Maintain program equipment and ensure activity areas are clean and organized.
• Model and uphold camp policies, traditions, and community standards while maintaining healthy professional boundaries.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience working with children or teens (experience with ages 12–17 is strongly preferred).
• Ability to live and work in a communal, rustic camp environment, including shared cabins and group dining.
• Willingness to follow trauma-informed, camper-centered practices.
• Emotional maturity, dependability, and the ability to remain calm and flexible in a busy residential setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of college or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading, teaching, or facilitating activities for youth.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
