About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze information from internal and external sources to support evidence-based decision-making
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, jurisdictional scans, and presentations for senior management and executive leadership
- Support the planning and implementation of public safety programs, including contract coordination and monitoring progress
- Prepare correspondence and communications materials for stakeholders and the public
- Collaborate with Finance staff to support budget monitoring, forecasting, and expenditure tracking
- Manage relationships with justice partners and service providers through working groups and committees
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior employees and support staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus five years of related experience in policy/program planning and development or public safety
- Strong research, analysis, and synthesis skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple deadlines
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to undergo an enhanced background check and potential federal security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with engagement processes and program development/management
- Experience working within law enforcement environments
- Knowledge of public safety processes
