About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement play-based TeamUp program at 1-3 elementary schools, delivering on-site coaching and modeling to school staff
  • Develop safe, active, and engaging recess environments with multiple game areas and model positive behavior
  • Organize a Junior Coach student leadership program for 4th and 5th graders through monthly trainings
  • Lead 20-30 minute instructional classes teaching recess games to build student confidence and participation
  • Maintain communication between Playworks staff, school staff, and teachers
  • Collect and organize schedules, lesson plans, meeting notes, and program data
  • Deliver Playworks Pro professional development trainings to school staff
  • Support regional program quality across Coach, TeamUp, and Relay schools
  • Attend conferences, staff trainings, and community initiatives as needed

Requirements

  • Genuine love of play and excitement to lead games at recess
  • Demonstrated experience leading and inspiring large and small groups of children
  • Proven ability to train adult participants
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and integrate into diverse school communities
  • Excellent planning, organization, and attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation for daily local travel to multiple school sites
