About the role

Responsibilities

  • Research, conceptualize, and write proposals for exchange programs, including developing themes, content, and itineraries
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all activities remain within authorized grant funds
  • Coordinate with local partner organizations across the United States to develop local programming
  • Arrange Washington, D.C. itineraries, including professional appointments, panels, site visits, and cultural activities
  • Conduct orientation sessions for delegations and prepare project materials and packets
  • Supervise program associate activities to ensure timely planning and implementation of logistics
  • Maintain responsive working relationships with clients, interpreters, and partner organizations
  • Conduct final project evaluations and prepare accurate program reports as required by grants

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior experience as a programmer for the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in an NGO, government agency, or private organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Must reside in the Washington, D.C. area and be able to work frequently from the D.C. office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing complex project logistics and budgets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with diverse international stakeholders
