About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end leadership for a nationwide, safety-critical air traffic controller training program supporting the FAA.
- Lead and coordinate distributed operations across 300+ training sites, including Academy-based and field training activities.
- Manage a large, geographically dispersed workforce of approximately 800 personnel, ensuring staffing readiness and training quality.
- Oversee an annual program budget exceeding $100M, including schedule, performance metrics, and risk management.
- Serve as the primary liaison to FAA stakeholders, providing program reviews and performance reporting.
- Establish and enforce Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance processes for 24/7 operations.
- Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of advanced simulation and digital training tools.
Requirements
- 15+ years of program management experience leading large, multi-site programs with 500+ personnel and $100M+ annual budgets.
- Master's degree in business, management, aviation, or a related field.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Proven success managing complex stakeholder environments and federal contracts in highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated experience implementing safety, quality, and compliance frameworks in mission-critical environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with FAA, DOT, or air traffic operations and training programs.
- Familiarity with the National Airspace System (NAS).
- Experience leading programs with over 1,000 personnel or total contract values exceeding $500M.
- Background in training modernization, simulation-based training, or data-driven performance improvement.
- Additional safety or quality certifications such as SMS or ISO-based systems.
