Program Director of Doctorate Physical Therapy

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the newly developed DPT program in collaboration with the Program Manager
• Lead strategic planning efforts aligned with institutional goals
• Seek and maintain programmatic accreditation with CAPTE
• Develop and teach selected courses for the residential DPT program
• Mentor entry-level DPT students and core faculty members
• Generate peer-reviewed scholarship and pursue grant funding to support research
• Participate in admission interviews, student retention efforts, and program assessment
• Solicit funding for program development, endowments, and scholarships

Requirements

• Unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in the State of New York (or eligibility for licensure)
• An earned academic doctoral degree
• At least six years of full-time experience in higher education
• At least three years of full-time experience in an entry-level physical therapist education program
• Familiarity with CAPTE accreditation standards and processes
• Evidence of effective teaching, scholarship, and leadership
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
