About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cultural, educational, and recreational programming for Secure Detention youth
  • Work directly with youth to promote teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Build self-confidence in youth and contribute to violence reduction through relationship-building
  • Encourage healthy lifestyles through sports, physical exercise, and nutrition
  • Assess internal and external programs via observation and surveys to provide improvement recommendations
  • Act as a liaison with contracted programs to ensure vendor compliance and management
  • Develop monthly provider meetings, progress reports, and annual vendor performance evaluations
  • Assist with training staff and contracted providers on new programming modules

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree and two years of experience in community work or related activities; OR
  • High school graduation and six years of experience in community work or related activities; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience in community-centered activities
