About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to the Assistant Director to ensure program compliance with grant requirements.
  • Coordinate daily activities within the Jacoby Center and monitor program activities with the Stockton Unified School District.
  • Oversee, direct, and support student and temporary casual employees, including hiring, training, and coaching.
  • Manage schedules, assign work, and substitute as after-school program staff when necessary.
  • Assist with administrative duties including payroll, budget monitoring, and maintaining electronic and manual department records.
  • Serve as a liaison between the University of the Pacific and the Stockton Unified School District.
  • Prepare correspondence, special reports, technical papers, and presentations.
  • Monitor office equipment, facilities, and supplies to ensure operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or 60 post-secondary units of completed coursework.
  • 3 years of experience in educational tutoring or after-school programs.
  • Proficiency in office software.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive for University business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and mail merge functions.
  • Experience with basic budget and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with web content management.
