About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment, retention, orientation, and reentry of semester study abroad students.
  • Conduct information sessions and respond to inquiries from students and parents regarding program offerings, costs, and deadlines.
  • Develop targeted marketing materials, social media communications, and outreach campaigns for students and faculty.
  • Provide logistical support for study abroad activities, including workshops, orientations, and guest presenter visits.
  • Process student applications and maintain comprehensive records, including health, safety, insurance, and scholarship documentation.
  • Manage departmental billing, invoicing, and expenditures in coordination with Student Accounts.
  • Supervise work-study students and provide administrative support to the Faculty Study Abroad Committee and the Vice-Provost for Global Education.
  • Maintain the Study Abroad Resource Room and manage program inventory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional experience (or a combination of education and experience).
  • Proven experience living abroad and/or working in an academic programming setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and external providers.
  • Ability to manage complex, multiple tasks with minimal supervision and high attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to use diplomacy and tact when interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Education Abroad field and cross-cultural experience.
  • Experience using study abroad management software, such as Terra Dotta.
