About the role

Responsibilities

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and family-friendly environment that honors racial justice, equity, and cultural relevance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for parent and community programming, building trusting relationships with families and school staff.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage adult education programs, workshops, and events aligned with community engagement goals.
  • Identify and generate opportunities for wrap-around supports and essential community resources.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for all parent and community programming using Cityspan.
  • Support the SCS Leadership Team and assist parents in identifying opportunities for leadership and needs assessment.
  • Collaborate with school administration to develop programs based on data, including surveys and CIWP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Effective communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and organize programs rooted in equity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual/bicultural in Spanish and English.
  • Experience in social work, community organizing, urban public education, project management, or adult education.
  • Proven ability to develop and evaluate community-based programs for diverse constituencies.
  • Existing knowledge of or experience with the local school community.
