Program Coordinator, First Yr Exp

Responsibilities

• Oversee student leadership development, including hiring, training, and supervising student coordinators and office assistants
• Support the planning and logistical implementation of large-scale programs such as New Student Orientation, Parent & Family Orientation, and Fall Family Weekend
• Facilitate student leader retreats, workshops, and meetings to promote professional growth and cultural fluency
• Coordinate year-long transition programming to integrate first-year students into the university community
• Manage office administrative duties, including supply purchasing, multi-line phone systems, and email communications
• Collaborate with campus partners like Transfers and the Center for Global Engagement to ensure inclusive programming

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent professional experience)
• At least 1 year of related experience
• Proficiency with MS Word and ability to learn new systems such as Slate and StarRez
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills
• Ability to manage and develop student leaders

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a related field
• Previous experience working in a higher education setting
• Experience leading, supervising, or managing college students
• Understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by diverse communities regarding race, class, gender, and privilege
