About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate pro-social activities and programming focusing on mental wellness, addictions, recovery, and life skills.
  • Supervise mental health, addictions, fine arts, and life skills programming for program clients.
  • Coordinate with community partners to build relationships and ensure client access to services.
  • Delegate tasks to volunteers and provide oversight for lived experience employment placements.
  • Maintain administrative frameworks, including case notes, activity reports, and therapeutic intervention documentation.
  • Provide outreach and accompaniment for clients to community events and services via various modes of transit.
  • Conduct survivor talkback sessions to integrate participant input into programming.
  • Monitor office safety, complete incident investigations, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma in Social Service or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in program facilitation.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with survivors of exploitation.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices for marginalized populations.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or MANDT.
  • Valid Class Five BC Driver’s License with a clear abstract.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mental Health First Aid Certification.
  • Naloxone Training.
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 Certification.
  • WHMIS training.
