About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate pro-social activities and programming focusing on mental wellness, addictions, recovery, and life skills.
- Supervise mental health, addictions, fine arts, and life skills programming for program clients.
- Coordinate with community partners to build relationships and ensure client access to services.
- Delegate tasks to volunteers and provide oversight for lived experience employment placements.
- Maintain administrative frameworks, including case notes, activity reports, and therapeutic intervention documentation.
- Provide outreach and accompaniment for clients to community events and services via various modes of transit.
- Conduct survivor talkback sessions to integrate participant input into programming.
- Monitor office safety, complete incident investigations, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in Social Service or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in program facilitation.
- At least 1 year of experience working with survivors of exploitation.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices for marginalized populations.
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or MANDT.
- Valid Class Five BC Driver’s License with a clear abstract.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mental Health First Aid Certification.
- Naloxone Training.
- FOODSAFE Level 1 Certification.
- WHMIS training.
