About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead all engineering activities for state-of-the-art communications systems programs
  • Ensure overall engineering execution, including decision authority over technical activities
  • Manage engineering budgets, schedules, and staffing forecasts to ensure targets are met
  • Conduct Engineering Bid Reviews (EBRs) and Engineering Program Reviews (EPRs)
  • Develop executable Estimates at Completion (EAC) in collaboration with Cost Account Managers
  • Oversee and manage engineering risks and opportunities across the program
  • Manage engineering suppliers in accordance with subcontractor requirements and processes
  • Provide accurate and timely status reports to Program and Engineering organizations

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Active and transferable SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date
  • STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 7 years of experience
  • Experience as a Technical Program Manager, Program Engineer, Project Engineer, or IPT Lead
  • Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines with a focus on communications systems
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience in all phases of the development program lifecycle and risk management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile and/or DevSecOps development methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a development team through transition to sustainment
  • Experience developing satellite communications systems
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and managing electronics fabrication/suppliers
  • Knowledge of Navy and Air Force platforms, requirements, and objectives
