About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead all engineering activities for state-of-the-art communications systems programs
- Ensure overall engineering execution, including decision authority over technical activities
- Manage engineering budgets, schedules, and staffing forecasts to ensure targets are met
- Conduct Engineering Bid Reviews (EBRs) and Engineering Program Reviews (EPRs)
- Develop executable Estimates at Completion (EAC) in collaboration with Cost Account Managers
- Oversee and manage engineering risks and opportunities across the program
- Manage engineering suppliers in accordance with subcontractor requirements and processes
- Provide accurate and timely status reports to Program and Engineering organizations
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Active and transferable SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 7 years of experience
- Experience as a Technical Program Manager, Program Engineer, Project Engineer, or IPT Lead
- Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines with a focus on communications systems
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Experience in all phases of the development program lifecycle and risk management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile and/or DevSecOps development methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead a development team through transition to sustainment
- Experience developing satellite communications systems
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and managing electronics fabrication/suppliers
- Knowledge of Navy and Air Force platforms, requirements, and objectives
