About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, quality, and delivery of all APLP program activities, including professional development, study tours, high-level visits, and events.
- Set and maintain high standards for activity design to ensure alignment with DFAT priorities and program objectives.
- Manage the program activity function, providing oversight to coordinators and liaison roles.
- Integrate GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion), climate, and safeguarding considerations into all activity designs.
- Maintain accountability for participant experience, including pastoral care, accessibility, and risk management.
- Partner with the Operations Lead to translate activity designs into successful operational execution.
- Engage with DFAT, Posts, and external providers to identify priorities and manage delivery partner pipelines.
- Use participant feedback and MEL data to drive continuous improvement and adaptive delivery.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in international development, public policy, education, governance, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience working with DFAT or comparable organizations, specifically in large, complex program delivery.
- Proven experience delivering study tours, leadership programs, exchanges, and high-level visits.
- Strong understanding of Pacific Island contexts, including cultural and political dynamics.
- Experience managing provider panels, partnerships, or procurement processes.
- Deep knowledge of DFAT policies and compliance, including safeguarding, PSEAH, and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multidisciplinary delivery in fast-paced environments.
