About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in studio arts and mass communication as assigned by the Department Chair
- Serve as lead curriculum and assessment faculty for the studio art program
- Provide academic advising to students
- Maintain an active scholarly agenda of research and service
- Serve on departmental, school, and college committees
- Participate in community service and outreach programs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other programs
Requirements
- Earned terminal degree in the discipline or a closely related area
- Commitment to excellence in college teaching and an active scholarly agenda
- Commitment to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity
- Ability to use technology and selected platforms effectively in teaching and learning
- Ability to demonstrate collegiality and a sound work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of teaching experience in higher education
- Proven record of publications and teaching effectiveness
- Proficiency with learning management systems and online teaching and learning platforms
