About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in studio arts and mass communication as assigned by the Department Chair
  • Serve as lead curriculum and assessment faculty for the studio art program
  • Provide academic advising to students
  • Maintain an active scholarly agenda of research and service
  • Serve on departmental, school, and college committees
  • Participate in community service and outreach programs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other programs

Requirements

  • Earned terminal degree in the discipline or a closely related area
  • Commitment to excellence in college teaching and an active scholarly agenda
  • Commitment to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity
  • Ability to use technology and selected platforms effectively in teaching and learning
  • Ability to demonstrate collegiality and a sound work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of teaching experience in higher education
  • Proven record of publications and teaching effectiveness
  • Proficiency with learning management systems and online teaching and learning platforms
