About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and didactic teaching for the Trap-Neuter-Release program and principles of surgery courses.
- Lead small animal surgery courses, laboratories, and supervise clinical clerkships.
- Participate actively in Veterinary Skills courses throughout the DVM program.
- Engage in curriculum development and the creation of innovative learning resources.
- Serve on university committees such as admissions, curriculum, or research.
- For tenure track faculty: develop independent or collaborative research in the field of veterinary surgery.
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent degree.
- Proven expertise in small animal surgery.
- Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
- Ability to interact effectively with university administration, faculty, students, and alumni.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty board certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS).
- PhD and advanced training in small animal surgery and research.
