Professor Veterinary Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and didactic teaching for the Trap-Neuter-Release program and principles of surgery courses.
• Lead small animal surgery courses, laboratories, and supervise clinical clerkships.
• Participate actively in Veterinary Skills courses throughout the DVM program.
• Engage in curriculum development and the creation of innovative learning resources.
• Serve on university committees such as admissions, curriculum, or research.
• For tenure track faculty: develop independent or collaborative research in the field of veterinary surgery.

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree.
• Proven expertise in small animal surgery.
• Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
• Ability to interact effectively with university administration, faculty, students, and alumni.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty board certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS).
• PhD and advanced training in small animal surgery and research.
