About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and didactic teaching in anesthesiology and small animal surgery course laboratories
- Serve as the course director for the third-year DVM anesthesiology course
- Engage in curriculum development and the creation of innovative learning resources
- Participate in university committee service, including admissions, curriculum, and research committees
- For tenure-track faculty: develop independent or collaborative research in veterinary anesthesiology to support the College's scholarly goals
- Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness within the academic community
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent degree with proven expertise in anesthesiology
- Specialty board certification or eligibility from the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) or an equivalent body
- Proven ability to interact effectively with university administration, faculty, staff, students, and alumni
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in anesthesiology and research
- Experience in advanced veterinary research and scholarly activities
