About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care in radiation oncology within the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center
- Contribute to the teaching mission by instructing professional DVM and graduate students
- Engage in collaborative or independent research and scholarship to advance the field
- Participate in institutional service and outreach activities to enhance the oncology program
- For tenure-track roles, develop an active scholarly program including grant writing and peer-reviewed publications
Requirements
- DVM/VMD or equivalent degree
- Completion of an approved radiation oncology residency program
- Credentials accepted by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (RO) for board certification
- Valid Iowa Veterinary License (or ability to obtain one by the first day of employment)
- For Associate or Full Professor levels: ACVR (RO) board certification and a documented record of productive scholarship and teaching
Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certification by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (RO)
- Expertise in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
- Expertise in stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT)
- Experience with didactic, clinical teaching, and resident training
