About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care in radiation oncology within the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center
  • Contribute to the teaching mission by instructing professional DVM and graduate students
  • Engage in collaborative or independent research and scholarship to advance the field
  • Participate in institutional service and outreach activities to enhance the oncology program
  • For tenure-track roles, develop an active scholarly program including grant writing and peer-reviewed publications

Requirements

  • DVM/VMD or equivalent degree
  • Completion of an approved radiation oncology residency program
  • Credentials accepted by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (RO) for board certification
  • Valid Iowa Veterinary License (or ability to obtain one by the first day of employment)
  • For Associate or Full Professor levels: ACVR (RO) board certification and a documented record of productive scholarship and teaching

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certification by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (RO)
  • Expertise in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
  • Expertise in stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT)
  • Experience with didactic, clinical teaching, and resident training
