About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach a 3/3 course load, including Introductory Biology and Anatomy & Physiology (both lecture and laboratory components)
- Guide the future of the Biology major and related programs such as Biochemistry, Environmental Science, and Medical Sciences
- Provide academic advising to students within the department
- Participate in shared governance structures within the college
- Contribute to an innovative and inclusive learning environment through student mentoring and hands-on research support
Requirements
- M.S. with strong teaching experience, or a Ph.D. at the time of appointment
- Ability to teach both lecture and laboratory classes
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach foundational offerings in Introductory Biology and Anatomy & Physiology
- Potential to develop additional course offerings based on specific area of expertise and interest
