Professor of Practice-Sound Recording

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in studio recording, music mastering, studio acoustics, and recording studio management
• Mentor students and coordinate the use of the Belfer studio
• Participate in student recruitment and university service, including committee work
• Maintain active expertise in audio production technology, trends, and industry practices
• Collaborate with colleagues and engage with the Setnor School of Music community

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a related STEAM field or commensurate high-level professional experience
• 5-10 years of significant professional experience in the music production industry
• Documented successful collegiate teaching experience
• Component-level expertise with audio production hardware and software
• Active engagement in professional organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial composition and/or songwriting
• Experience in equipment maintenance and repair
• Established music performance background
• Expertise in professional audio equipment and systems design
