About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of levels and styles of dance applicable to contemporary musical theater performance
- Serve as a professional mentor to department students and a creative advisor to departmental productions
- Engage in continued professional creative work as schedule permits
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, including program development and community outreach
- Assist with student advising, mentoring of student organizations, and accreditation-related activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus additional preparation, demonstrated by significant professional experience and/or a relevant advanced degree
- Demonstrated teaching excellence in a pre-professional, professional, or university environment
- Significant professional experience and active creative activity in the field
- A reputation that enables serving as an effective conduit between the department, students, and the profession
