About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as Clinical Director of the MFT Program, overseeing clinical training, site partnerships, and student evaluations
- Manage operations of the Whitworth Marriage and Family Therapy Center (MFTC) and supervise student clinicians
- Teach graduate-level Marriage and Family Therapy courses and other assigned graduate curriculum
- Organize, facilitate, and supervise practicum and internship experiences for MFT students
- Monitor student academic and clinical progress and develop individualized growth plans
- Serve on the MFT Advisory Board and admissions committee
- Ensure program compliance with accreditation standards and participate in departmental governance
- Maintain active involvement in professional scholarship and research activities
Requirements
- Earned Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a closely related field
- Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington State
- Minimum of five years of experience as an MFT
- AAMFT Clinical Fellow status and Approved Supervisor status (or eligibility)
- A personal commitment to the Christian faith and the integration of faith and learning
- Commitment to the mission of Whitworth as a Christian liberal arts university
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with COAMFTE accreditation standards and policies
- Previous university-level teaching experience
- Experience working within university graduate programs
- Familiarity with electronic health record keeping
