About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Clinical Director of the MFT Program, overseeing clinical training, site partnerships, and student evaluations
  • Manage operations of the Whitworth Marriage and Family Therapy Center (MFTC) and supervise student clinicians
  • Teach graduate-level Marriage and Family Therapy courses and other assigned graduate curriculum
  • Organize, facilitate, and supervise practicum and internship experiences for MFT students
  • Monitor student academic and clinical progress and develop individualized growth plans
  • Serve on the MFT Advisory Board and admissions committee
  • Ensure program compliance with accreditation standards and participate in departmental governance
  • Maintain active involvement in professional scholarship and research activities

Requirements

  • Earned Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a closely related field
  • Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington State
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an MFT
  • AAMFT Clinical Fellow status and Approved Supervisor status (or eligibility)
  • A personal commitment to the Christian faith and the integration of faith and learning
  • Commitment to the mission of Whitworth as a Christian liberal arts university

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with COAMFTE accreditation standards and policies
  • Previous university-level teaching experience
  • Experience working within university graduate programs
  • Familiarity with electronic health record keeping
