Professor of Internal Medicine

Responsibilities

• Teach the approved LMU-DCOM curriculum through lectures, seminars, small group discussions, and clinical assignments
• Provide clinical service, patient care, and bedside teaching for students in a clinical setting
• Engage in scholarly activity and contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of academic programs
• Prepare examination questions, grade coursework, and maintain detailed lecture objectives
• Mentor medical students and supervise clinical educational activities, including the use of standardized patients
• Participate in clinic quality assurance, faculty meetings, and departmental committees
• Promote a professional, multicultural environment that fosters diversity and academic excellence

Requirements

• D.O. or M.D. degree
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine
• Ability to obtain a Tennessee medical license within the first year of hire
• Ability to maintain an unrestricted Tennessee license and approved medical professional liability insurance

Preferred Qualifications

• D.O. degree with the ability to be licensed in Tennessee via the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical or academic medicine teaching and leadership
• Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience
