Professor — Large Animal Practice (Food Animal emphasis)

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction to veterinary students, graduate students, interns, and graduate veterinarians
• Engage in creative scholarship and collaborative research activities within Large Animal/Food Animal Practice
• Deliver clinical services through the Large Animal Teaching Hospital and ambulatory/field services
• Participate in after-hours and on-call emergency duty
• Develop innovative teaching and service programs
• Build professional relationships with referring veterinarians and participate in state and national outreach and continuing education
• Serve on college and university committees

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree
• Board-certification or board eligibility in a Large Animal-related discipline
• If not board-certified or board eligible, must have three to four years of postgraduate clinical experience, including a large animal rotating internship and/or academic clinical instructor experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Clinical experience in medical and surgical management across various large animal species
