About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and data science, including programming, machine learning, big data, and statistical modeling
- Conduct original research in computer science, data science, or related fields
- Actively pursue external funding through grantsmanship and research proposals
- Advise and mentor students within the growing PhD program
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed academic journals and present at national and international conferences
- Participate in departmental service and university committees
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field (must be completed by the start date)
- Expertise in one or more specialized areas such as Cybersecurity, AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, or Data Engineering
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Demonstrated excellence in research and ability to secure external funding
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of effective teaching and commitment to high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Experience in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with industry or government partners
- Proven track record of successful grantsmanship
