About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach a mix of undergraduate and graduate courses, including topics such as Human Factors, cognition, research methods, human and AI teaming, and data analytics
  • Conduct original research and establish an independent program with the potential for external funding
  • Mentor graduate students and support their academic and professional development
  • Engage in departmental, college, or university service, including committee work and student interaction
  • Pursue research collaborations, potentially with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and other interdisciplinary partners

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline (ABD candidates will be considered if requirements are met by the start date)
  • Active membership in the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) or a related professional organization
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and, depending on rank, a record of obtaining external funding
  • Experience in teaching at the university level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialization in Human Factors Psychology or a closely related field (e.g., AI, cognitive modeling, interface design, or sustainability)
  • A research agenda compatible with AFRL research interests
  • Evidence of an established, independently funded research program (for Associate/Full Professor ranks)
  • Proven excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels
