Professor, Culinary Arts

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of culinary arts lab and lecture classes in both in-person and online formats
• Deliver clear, concise, and organized lectures in alignment with the curriculum
• Assess student performance through observation, interaction, and written or practical examinations
• Assist in developing program course outcomes, assessments, and plans to improve student success rates
• Maintain a positive, focused learning environment and ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation principles
• Manage classroom environments, maintain accurate grade and attendance records, and submit reports timely
• Provide student advisement and participate in significant college or community service
• Collaborate with the Executive Director, faculty, and staff to support the culinary institute

Requirements

• Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts or Pastry Arts
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Culinary Management, Business, or Hospitality Management
• Ten years of industry experience and five years of culinary arts teaching experience
• CEC certification or ability to be certified at the CEC level by the American Culinary Federation
• Experience with a wide variety of cuisines from the Americas, Europe, and Asia
• Experience with skills associated with the Garde Manger chef position
