Professor, Cardiovascular Perfusion

Responsibilities

• Deliver full-day laboratory instruction, including hands-on training with heart-lung machines and ancillary equipment
• Facilitate case-based simulation exercises replicating clinical scenarios for open-heart surgery and transplant procedures
• Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory learning spaces, equipment, and materials in alignment with academic policies
• Provide on-site instructional support to students, reinforcing program requirements and competencies
• Document and track student feedback, progress, and competency achievement
• Lead aspects of program design, assessment, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement
• Manage laboratory supplies, including ordering, inventory, and quality checks

Requirements

• Masters level education in a discipline-relevant field
• Certification by the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion (CSCP) or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
• Membership in relevant professional association(s)
• Demonstrated clinical experience and currency in perfusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of demonstrated clinical experience as a Perfusionist
• Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary or clinical setting
