Professor, Cardiovascular Perfusion

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory learning spaces, equipment, and materials
• Provide on-site instructional support to students regarding program requirements and competencies
• Deliver full-day laboratory instruction including hands-on training with heart-lung machines and pharmaceutical systems
• Facilitate case-based simulation exercises replicating clinical scenarios for open-heart surgery and transplants
• Dismantle and reset lab environments following instructional sessions
• Document and track student feedback, progress, and competency achievement
• Develop and coordinate student lab schedules in collaboration with program staff
• Order, inventory, and quality-check laboratory supplies and equipment

Requirements

• Masters level education in a discipline-relevant field
• Certification by the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion (CSCP) or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
• Certification by and/or membership in relevant professional association(s)
• Demonstrated clinical experience and currency

Preferred Qualifications

• Perfusionist with a minimum of three years of demonstrated clinical experience
• Previous teaching experience
