Professional Standards & Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Coordinate professional standards activities, including monitoring trends and identifying risk indicators.
• Oversee the hiring process in accordance with departmental and Human Resources procedures.
• Conduct administrative and internal affairs investigations, ensuring objectivity and compliance with legal requirements.
• Prepare detailed investigative summaries and maintain secure, confidential files.
• Review and respond to citizen complaints and submit findings for disciplinary recommendations.
• Draft, review, and maintain departmental policies, directives, and procedures to ensure alignment with law enforcement best practices and state laws.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to personnel regarding policy application and professional standards.
• Support employee wellness by communicating concerns through appropriate channels.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory, internal affairs, professional standards, or closely related role.
• Working knowledge of campus law enforcement operations, regulatory compliance, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and law enforcement technology platforms.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and respond after-hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree.
• Specialized skills in interviewing and assessment techniques.
