Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment
• Formulate daily goals and plans of care involving the patient as a partner
• Provide detailed patient and family education regarding episodes of care and transitions
• Participate in unit-based shared governance and quality improvement efforts
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support clinical care improvements
• Maintain comprehensive patient documentation to promote communication between caregivers

Requirements

• Current RN licensure (state-specific or NLC compact)
• CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
• Ability to perform nursing assessments and patient education
• 0–2 years of experience (acceptable for entry-level)
• Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, and lifting

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• UPMC approved national certification
