Professional Services Technical Consultant

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications in an IBM z/OS environment supporting ARP/SMS batch and online processing
• Configure and extend ARP/SMS functionality for positive pay reporting, exception processing, and account reconciliation services
• Customize file layouts, control tables, and reconciliation workflows to meet specific client business requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents involving CICS transactions, file transfers, and data integrity issues
• Optimize COBOL programs, JCL, and VSAM access methods to improve online performance and batch efficiency
• Create technical specifications, runbooks, and workflow documentation to support implementation and production support
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to define requirements and validate technical solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment using COBOL, JCL, TSO/ISPF, CICS, and VSAM
• 5+ years of experience in financial services, specifically with account reconciliation, positive pay, or treasury management
• 4+ years of experience troubleshooting production incidents and resolving batch/online processing issues
• Experience using mainframe diagnostic and debugging tools such as Xpediter or InterTest
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Must possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Fiserv mainframe products such as PEP+
• Proficiency with source code management tools like Endevor or Changeman
• Exposure to Agile or ITIL processes within a mainframe environment
• Knowledge of check processing lifecycles and treasury management reconciliation workflows
