Production Technician Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Hire and supervise a team of production technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts and assemblies
• Execute production plans, priorities, and schedules provided by manufacturing management
• Organize daily task lists and workflow by assigning responsibilities to team members
• Lead cross-functional daily stand-up meetings focused on quality, cost, and delivery
• Establish safety plans and protocols in collaboration with EHSS and ensure work area cleanliness
• Run training programs for key team skill sets and processes
• Manage timecards, perform biannual reviews, and handle personnel issues in partnership with HR
• Perform R&D and prototype hardware builds with minimal documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing discrepancies with a focus on continuous improvement

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a formal manufacturing leadership role
• Minimum of 10 years of technical experience including mechanical and electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum, and cryogenic systems
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical and electrical drawings, manuals, and reports
• Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as standing or sitting for extended periods
• Dedication to safety in environments involving heat, cold, noise, high voltage, and cryogenics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles
• Experience navigating assemblies in 3D CAD software
• Experience with winding equipment of any type
